8 SIMPLE Steps to Building Your Home
1. Personal Consultation
All great things in life start with a well thought out plan! We begin the Hudson Homes building process by discovering what’s most important to you: whether it be buying your first home or building your investment portfolio, an initial personal consultation with one of our professional New Home Consultants will provide you with all the information, research and knowledge you need to make an educated and well informed decision.
2. Finance Consultation
Building a home can be a significant financial decision. And that’s why we recommend you meet with an accredited professional who can help you understand every aspect of the financial commitment you are about to make. If you haven’t already addressed this important aspect to buying a new home or investment, Hudson Homes has established a network of professionals across Australia that includes financial advisers, accountants and financiers who would be happy to help you tailor a financial solution that best suits your needs before you start on the exciting journey of selecting and personalising your home.
3. Choose Your Land
Once your New Home Consultant has an understanding of what’s most important to you, they can help you to source and secure the location of your new home. Hudson Homes has access to many exclusive lots in some of the best housing estates which makes finding that ideal block so much easier. Perhaps it’s the convenience of local transport links that’s most important to you, or it may simply be the need to invest in a high growth community that’s your number one priority. Either way, we’re there to assist. Of course, if you’ve already selected your parcel of land, just provide us with the details and we’ll take it from there.
4. Select Your Home
Now that you’ve chosen your land, it’s time to select the floor plan that best suits your needs, your budget and your specific parcel of land. Your New Home Consultant can show you a wonderful range of new home designs and can help you to decipher the ‘must-have’ features from the ‘nice-to-have’ features. Most importantly, they will work with you through the decision making process and recommend a range of floor plans that are in line with your specific requirements and that suit the size and contours of your land.
5. Personalise Your Home
Now it’s time to create the home you want by selecting the fixtures, fittings and colour scheme that best suit your needs and your desires. Working with your own dedicated Designer, you will be sure to get the inspiration you need to turn your new home into a style that is a true reflection of who you are and what you’re trying to achieve. Together you will carefully consider the various options available to you and decide upon what’s most important to you. Alternatively, if the whole idea of selecting each fixture, fitting or colour is a daunting one for you, we have simplified the whole selection process by providing pre-selected options that have been carefully put together by our Designers. As with all things at Hudson Homes, the choice is always yours.
6. Secure Your Home
Once you’re happy with the design and finish of your home, you will need to sign a home building agreement that details exactly what you’re getting with your new home. Hudson Homes uses the approved Housing Industry Association (HIA) building contract and offers the assurance of a fixed-price guarantee with no exceptions, no hidden extras and no surprises (all the things you don’t want when building your new home). Your New Home Consultant can help you understand the important parts of this agreement and outline the step-by-step process required to take your new home from initial tender to final handover.
7. Build Your Home
Building your home is what we do best here at Hudson Homes. Once we have received the necessary council approval and have received your authority to commence construction, we will begin the process of building your new home. Our home building process is organised through well-planned stages and your dedicated Client Relationship Manager will keep you up-to-date throughout the entire process. We truly believe that a well-informed client is a happy client and we understand and accept the responsibility that comes with delivering the most important home ever built. Yours.
8. Handover and Warranty
Perhaps the most exciting part of building your new home is when you take possession. When your new home is presented to you, your Site Supervisor will walk you through each room and demonstrate the many important features of your new home. They will also explain our home building warranty and maintenance program and present you with the manufacturer’s warranty for all your appliances just before handing you the keys to your new home. Your Site Supervisor will ensure that you are completely delighted with every aspect of your new home before completing our Client Satisfaction Report and will immediately attend to any items that may need to be addressed. Most importantly, we do not want the handing over of your home to be a ‘good-bye’: rather it should be the start of a rewarding and respectful long-term relationship.
