The foundations are down at Monaco Apartments
Since the commencement of construction for the Monaco apartments at the end of November 2017, the Hudson Commercial team have proudly completed the first major stage of the building process.
On the 6th of February the tower crane was installed and is now completely operational. An efficient tower crane is one of the most important elements on any commercial construction site. With any commercial construction site an effective tower crane is one of the key elements to a well organised and well-managed construction site.
The next stage of the building process happens to be pouring of the lower basement slab which sets the foundation for the rest of the construction site. The team at Hudson Commercial are working together to ensure that the 240 cubic metres of concrete that will need to be poured runs smoothly and without delay. On the 28th of February, both basement slabs had finalised pouring, which allowed for the most important stage which is the ground floor slab.
The ground floor slab is essentially another transfer slab, designed to hold the weight of the rest of the building. This solid piece of concrete is the latest in construction technology and is used to optimise space within the building, it is also considered to be safer than the conventional pillars. Our team had designed the building in this way as the bottom two levels are for the car park. We didn’t believe having walls and beam in the middle of the car park would be beneficial for the residents of the Monaco Apartments. This concrete slab is used to transfer loads of the entire seven stories above the various pillars in the basement. As Hudson Homes only use the top of the line the products, Schindler lift have been ordered and are expected to in be installed by July.
